Carmine Stool Maria Kaczorowska for SĀR
A stool for order is the embodiment of the simplest forms and functions. This piece of wooden furniture, one of the earliest and most primitive, transports Maria to a world where her grandparents eat breakfast at a tiny table, peel potatoes or weed the garden beds, always with a seat nearby to rest on. It's also a piece of "just in case" furniture - just in case there are more guests at the table, in case the balcony window is left half-open, or if a bedside table is missing next to the bed.
The stools consist of a structure made from oak wood, covered with natural waxes and oils in black and feature a hand-woven seat made from waxed cotton cord.
Stool available to order. Waiting time is 6 weeks from time of placing the order.
Size:40 × 30×30 cm
Maria Kaczorowska runs a small design studio in Łódź, focusing primarily on small-scale architecture, interior architecture, exhibition design and furniture creation. Her research interests are directed towards the use of local materials and artisanal techniques in contemporary design. She believes in the idea of critical regionalism and the power of traditional Polish craftsmanship.
