Sandy Camel Vessel by Małgorzata Łyszczarz
Made by Małgorzata Łyszczarz specially for Back to the Roots Collection, of her own mixture of fireclay clays Vessel inspired by traditional water vessels from today's India used, among others, to transport water on camel backs. The technique of making also refers to the oldest techniques of molding ceramics. All elements were shaped by hand without the use of a potter's wheel. Slight irregularities and traces of hand and tool work remained on the surface. The uneven color of the clay results from the deliberately imprecise mixing of several types of masses to obtain a warm, sandy shade. The vessel was also fired in an electric furnace at a temperature guaranteeing good sintering.
